Diving In, Swimming Down

Installation photo, the whole piece is shown. Hundreds of terracotta spheres hang from twine, covered in wet slip. The twine is attached to three intrinsic geometric wooden frames. Dramatic shadows are cast against the gallery walls. Base platform is a decagon made of plywood and raised by wooden boards. Eight large half spheres made of terracotta sit on the plywood. They have the unfired slip dripped and poured on them. There is an opening in which the viewer can stand on the base, surrounded by the spheres.
