Introduction to Color Vocabulary

Teacher Name: Erin Masimore

Class: German 1

 

Daily Objectives:

1.) Students will be able to describe the color of objects. (Cognitive)

2.) Students will be able to express their favorite color. (Cognitive, Affective)

3.) Students will be able to color a picture based on directions given in German. (Cognitive, Psychomotor)

Materials:
Textbook
Partner Coloring Activity - Teacher prepares overhead by coloring objects using non-traditional colors
Color-By-Numbers Activity

Schema:

Lesson:

I: Color Vocabulary (10 min)

A: Have students echo color vocabulary

B: „Was ist deine Lieblingsfarbe?” „Meine Lieblingsfarbe ist...“

II: Book Exercises 34-35 A, B, D (10 min)

A: Have students go through exercises with a partner

B: Class discussion about exercises

III: Partner Coloring Activity (10 min)

A: Partner 1 sits with his/her back to the overhead. Partner 2 tells Partner 1 the color of each object on the overhead. Partner 1 colors the object on his/her own paper.

B: Partners switch places and repeat with new objects

IV: Color-By-Numbers Activity (5 min)

A: Students complete worksheet individually

Assessment:

1.) Students will be assessed on their ability to describe the color of objects based on class discussion.

2.) Students will be assessed on their ability to express their favorite color based on class discussion.

3.) Students will be assessed on their ability to color a picture based on directions given in German based on a partner coloring activity.
